Now that you know what shape your face is, you can start looking for the perfect hairstyle. If your face is oval, you should be ecstatic. Why? Because oval-shaped faces are the easiest to find the perfect hairstyle since oval faces go with so many. You can have concise hair or long hair in just about any style. The only things that a person with an oval face needs to stay away from in terms of hairstyles are shag cuts or any cut with several different strands hanging in the face. This takes away from the natural beauty of an oval face and should be avoided at all costs.
Round Shaped Faces
If you have a round face, then you will want a hairstyle that will elongate your face. This means hairstyles where you need a little bit of length and height. If you wear your hair in some updo or ponytail, you will always want to leave a little hair hanging out and framing the face to give it a softer appearance. When getting your hair cut, ask for chunky layers around the face. By having layers that frame your face, you will be offsetting the roundness of your face. If you don’t want layers, try wearing bangs. If your face is round, longer hair is the best compliment for it. Never wear your hair shorter than chin level.
Square Shaped Faces
For square-shaped faces, you will want to show off the angular appearance of your jaw by softening it. Stay away from straight hair that is parted in the middle, full bangs, or chin-length bobs. You can wear long hair or short hair with a heart-shaped face; however, if you opt for the shorter hairstyles, stay away from any bobs or haircuts above the chin. Also, stay away from mid-length strands.
Rectangle/ Oblong Face Shape
The forehead and cheekbones are about the same width, while the chin is narrow and may have a high forehead.
Short to medium length hairstyle looks best on you; layers work great on you and help shorten your face’s length. That is why soft, wispy bangs complement your face best. Avoid hair length that is too long because it lengthens your face too much.
Triangle Face Shape
This shape is the opposite of the heart-shaped face. The chin is dominant, while the rest of the face is narrower from the cheekbones to the temple or hairline.
Try getting a hairstyle with a lot of layering on your face’s upper portion to balance the upper area of your face with your prominent jawline. You can wear almost any hairstyle you want because you have a great face shape. You can wear shorter or longer hairstyles; however, you should still avoid having too much volume of hair on your face, which hides the beauty of your face.
